The Iraqi Company for Financing Small and Medium Enterprises participated in the Governance, Risk Management and Compliance Forum (GRC Forum) by sponsoring the silver event held at the Babylon Rotana Hotel on Tuesday, 5/28/2024, which was organized by the House of Hekma Training and Consulting Company BHTC, due to the importance this event represents in spreading banking culture around… In this regard, in the presence of Dr. Laila Al-Tamimi, Chairman of the Parliamentary Strategic Planning Committee, Mr. Mustafa Al-Karaawi, Member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, representatives of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and the Central Bank of Iraq, business leaders, and a large group of specialists, experts, and representatives of companies and banks from the government and private sectors.
The interest comes in the governance policy, which is represented in the processes, policies, management and application of the laws that govern the institution with the aim of ensuring its effective, transparent and reliable operation. As for compliance, it is considered to monitor the application of these laws and policies and ensure their implementation according to specific standards that will improve the use of resources and enhance confidence. The role of risk management is to identify and evaluate what may affect the organization’s ability to achieve its goals, analyze expected risks, and develop proactive strategies to confront them. All these operations fall within the government curriculum and under the umbrella of the Iraqi government’s reform program.
